By now you have read your daughter's report card. Along with the faculty, I am very proud of the efforts that are made by our students daily. What stands out most, is the careful balance between the teaching and learning of foundational skills in Literacy and Mathematics, and the ability of the girls to apply these skills across all subject areas. A huge thank you to the faculty for the thoughtful work that goes into writing the report cards.

- The safety of our students is the school's primary concern. A friendly reminder to let the office (416-483-3843 ext 6510 or jsoffice@havergal.on.ca) and the classroom teacher know if your daughter will not be at school. We ask that you let us know by 8:30 a.m.
Staffing Update
- Ashley Fawcett has accepted the position of Junior School Learning Support specialist, effective September 2017. Ashley has been at Havergal for two years working in the Learning Support department. She comes to us from Fraser Academy in British Columbia where she taught science and mathematics and was responsible for implementing their executive functioning curriculum and their new IEP system.
- Jodi McGeown has accepted a full time role as Learning Support Worker in the Junior School. Jodi comes to us with 16 years of experience working with children in schools and group homes. She brings a special expertise to the Learning Support team.
- Melissa Hickey will take on the role of Kindergarten core teacher, effective in September, 2017. Melissa has been working with Kindergarten and Grade 1 students for the past two years. She has also been one of our LLI instructors (Leveled Literacy Intervention). Finally, Melissa recently completed her Kindergarten Specialist certification.
- Please donate your time or donate delicious treats for our 2nd Annual Junior School Bake Sale on March 2nd. Last year’s bake sale was a resounding success, thanks to our parent volunteers who deliciously baked, creatively packaged, and enthusiastically sold these delectable delights!
