Message from Head of Junior School - April 6, 2018

Dear Junior School Parents,

As I write this message, the snow is falling outside, making for an unusual end to the first week of April!  With that being said, it has not dampened the spirits of our students as they are taking part in all that Havergal has to offer

On Monday morning, I was outside for drop-off and was so pleased to see that as students got out of their cars, they were running into school, greeting one another, and showed genuine excitement to start their day. When you come to visit, I invite you to observe how our girls walk through the halls, how engaged they are in their learning, and the smiles on their faces.

Sincerely,
Kate White

Please Note:

MONDAY, APRIL 9 IS PIZZA DAY!

OUTDOOR RECESS - APPROPRIATE CLOTHING
The weather has been changeable lately! Please be sure to send your daughter with the appropriate clothing (e.g., appropriate footwear, winter coat, raincoat, hat, mitts, and extra socks) so that she can enjoy outdoor play.

ATHLETICS
Our spring athletic season is off to a strong start!  We have over 60 girls registered for Track and Field, which is the biggest team we've ever had!

Please note that next week all of our squads are starting. You will receive a message from a Coach before your daughter's first session with further details.

Please take a look at next week's detailed schedule and the full season schedule (see below) to review all meets, games, practices, etc.

Should you have any questions, please contact Ms. Szolopiak sszolopiak@havergal.on.ca

PRAYERS
Ramadan Prayers will be on Friday, May 25th this year. If your child wishes to give a message on the meaning of Ramadan and your family's traditions, please send an email to Rev. Douglas by April 27th.

Your child will need to be available to write the message during lunch hour from 11:50 a.m. -12:50 p.m., Monday, May 1st and 11:50 a.m. -12:50 p.m., Monday, May 11th.

In the event that the numbers of interested students are unmanageably large, we will prioritize those students who have not yet had the chance to participate in Prayers this year.  You can reach Rev. Douglas at sdouglasbowman@havergal.on.ca

NEW CIRCLES - PROM BOUTIQUE DONATIONS
We are now accepting donations for the New Circles Prom Boutique.  There is a drop-off bin located in front of the Learning Hub until Friday, April 27.  The Grade 6 class will deliver these items to New Circles, and then help sort them once there.
