Message from Head of Junior School - June 8, 2018

Dear Junior School Parents,

Thank you to all of those that were able to make it our Final Prayers Service in the Brenda Robson Hall today.  It was magical to have all of our students there, and see the sun shining through and lighting up their faces.  We are looking forward to next week, as we continue to honour the end of the school year with Grade 6 Leaving Celebration on Monday, and our Closing Ceremony on Tuesday.  All the details for both events are noted below.

Sincerely,
Kate White

2018 JS MATH CONTEST RESULTS!!
Caribou Math, Mathematica and CNML
It is amazing to see that EVERY SINGLE GIRL in grades 3, 4, 5 and 6 took part in at least one math contest this year!!! We would like to acknowledge all of these girls for challenging themselves while solving tough math problems, for their growth mindset and for their perseverance.  Well done girls!

A special thank you to Ms. Carayannis for the countless hours organizing and preparing all of these contests. Ms. Carayannis is passionate about math and these contests, and we are grateful for her dedication in this process.  I would also like to sincerely thank all of our teachers, and Ms. Kubota for preparing them the students so well!

2018 SUMMER READING CHALLENGE
CAN YOU READ MORE THAN THE LIBRARIAN?
The Summer Reading Challenge is back! Reading over the summer is crucial for your daughter to maintain the progress she has worked so hard to achieve this year. We've created a challenge to help keep her motivated and reading during the long summer days.

Ms. Rodd is always looking for books to recommend, which means she is also always reading! We are challenging the girls to take on Ms. Rodd and see if they can read more than her. Updates regarding Ms. Rodd's progress will be posted on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and you are encouraged to send in pictures of your daughter working to read more than Ms. Rodd!

Students who return their forms in September will be eligible to win individual prizes for reading more than the librarian, as well as class prizes for participation.
