Grade 6s Return from Beausoleil Island

Dear Parents,

As I write this, our Grade 6 leaders are on a bus returning from their overnight trip on Beausoleil Island. All reports back from the accompanying teachers are that they had a wonderful and enriching experience, all the while strengthening their bonds with one another, and building trust and communication. Thank you to Kate White, Jesse Grosman, Andy Lucacescu, Rosa Mastri and Patrizia Rizzo for making this excursion such a success.

Celebration Saturday

Starbooks
The Junior School values their parents as partners in the education of their daughters. We hold Starbooks presentations during the year to share our teaching approaches with parents. Our faculty are always so pleased to share their expertise with parents. Starbooks presentations are always in the JS Learning Hub from 8:30-9:15 am. All are welcome and coffee and coffee is provided. Our first Starbooks for 2015 is on Wednesday, October 14 and the subject will be about independent reading. This session is appropriate for parents from JK  to Grade 6.

Athletics: A message from JS Athletic Director Annie Maki
Please check out Veracross and the school calendar to view meet dates. A few reminders:
Basketball: Please pick up your daughter at the Junior School after the girls return together from the Upper School gymnasiums.
Cross Country: We are attending our first meet next week. This meet is for grades 4, 5 and 6 team members. The coaches will be emailing you the first team message shortly. Included in this message is the Acknowledgement and Assumption of Risk form that we require you to read, sign and return before your daughter can compete at any of the meets. Cross country practices are on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at 7:25 am.
Swim Team: Our swim championships, Bishop’s Cup will be hosted here at Havergal College on Wednesday, October 28.Practices are on Tuesdays at 7:00 am, and Wednesdays at 3:45-5:00 pm.
